Founded in 1849, Sacramento is one of the states oldest cities, located at the heart of California history.  The Gold Rush, Pony Express and the first continental railroad began here.  Sacramento, California's capitol, is the 29th largest city in the nation.  More than 2 million people live in the greater Sacramento area consisting of Sacramento, Sutter, Yolo, Placer, and El Dorado counties.  Because of Sacramento's mid-state location, it is convenient to a variety of activities from the ocean to the snow-capped mountains.  From culture and the arts to professional and recreational sports Sacramento has something for everyone.

 Located just twenty miles east of Sacramento, Folsom is the easternmost community in Sacramento County.  Though still an easy commute to the city, Folsom has earned its nickname as the gateway to the Sierras.

Folsom is a great place to live not only because of it's proximity to Sacramento, but also because of its own local business community. Chief among these is Intel Corporation. With some 7,500 local employees, in 2001 Intel was ranked as the largest private sector employer by the Sacramento Business Journal.

A great place to work, Folsom is also a great place to play. Folsom is home to many great shopping centers, from outlet stores to auto malls. Folsom seems to have it all. For those who prefer to spend their weekends outdoors, Folsom offers the magnificent Folsom State Recreation Area. Its 1800+ acres are enjoyed by boaters, hikers, and equestrians alike. Bicyclists particularly enjoy the 32 miles of bicycle trails.
